Excellent Roman Coin of Constantine The Great // 330-335 AD
Product Description
Ancient Rome, Constantine I the Great, AD 307–337. Bronze nummus, struck AD 330–335, Nicomedia mint. The obverse depicts his rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust facing right, with the inscription CONSTANTINVS MAX AVG. The reverse features two Roman soldiers holding spears and shields, with legionary standards between them, inscribed GLORIA EXERCITVS. Mintmark: SMNA below. Coin reference: RIC VII 188 for type. Displays a deep coppery, almost black tone. The coin itself measures 18 mm in diameter. Encapsulated and graded Choice Extremely Fine by NGC. Archival slab measures 3.125" × 2.125" × 0.375".
