Average diameter 24mm. ref: BM Chinese coins (Poole) #345ff; Hartill 9.1-9.4; Gratzer/Fishman "The Numismatic Legacy of Wang Mang" C2.6-C3.25 for type. * Wang Mang (45 BC-6 October 23 AD), was a Han Dynasty official who overthrew the throne from the Liu family and founded the Xin (meaning "new") Dynasty, ruling from 9-23 AD.

Some historians have viewed Wang as a usurper, while others have depicted him as a visionary and social reformer. The Xin Dynasty (pronounced “Chin”, is the root of today’s “China”).

Every coin is unique but similar in condition and appearance. The one you will receive might be slightly different and not necessarily the same as pictured. Some have smaller central square holes, some with larger holes, some with coppery tone and others with olive-green patina. All with nice detail. Ex Fishman collection, Ontario, Canada.
