Alexander III The Great of Macedon, 336-323 BC. Silver drachm, set into a stunning 2-tone gold and silver men's ring. Head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and sceptre, monograms around, AΛEΞANΔΡOY behind. Struck just after his death, c. 322-301 BC, Kolophon mint. Coin with excellent detail, incredible portrait. The ring shank decorated with motifs from the Macedonian helmet.
