Crusader Europe, Teutonic Knights. Reval, 1413-1424 AD, Silver Schilling. The front depicts the Crusader cross of the Teutonic Knights upon a shield / The back shows a central Crusader cross. Encapsulated and certified About Uncirculated by NGC! The Teutonic order was formed from the remnants of the “Livonian Brothers of the Sword” after their defeat by Samogitians in 1236 at the Battle of Schaulen, after which they were incorporated into the Teutonic Knights and became known as the Livonian Order in 1237.
