The 1934 series of Silver Certificates is called a Funny Back. The Funny Back name was given to this series due to the fact that the back of the note looks like play money or “Monopoly” money. (see pics).

Another interesting fact about the 1934 series was the change in the front of the note. The 1928 series has a blue seal on the left side of the note. This was changed to a number “1” on the left side. The 1934 $ 1 Silver Certificate series was only issued for the one time. This makes collecting this series more challenging.
