Tube Box S2 is Pro-Ject's very first product to feature a fully discrete circuit design without using any operational amplifiers (OpAmps). It also is the first product to come with replaceable tubes for tube rolling and sound-shaping. This gives you many options for altering sound quality to their preference.

Tube Box S2 provides a full and relaxed sound with lush mids, just like you would expect from a much pricier tube phono pre-amplifier. It offers support for both MM and MC cartridges and comes with multiple gain settings to be switched on the front panel. Five variable input impedance settings are available to adjust to any MC cartridge, and a 47k ohm input impedance setting is fixed and suited for MM and high output MC designs. The new S2 series aluminum/metal casing protects against vibrations and electromagnetic interference for superior sound - a true high end solution in a small package!

FAQ
What is the wattage output?

This is a dedicated phono preamp and outputs a line-level signal of around 1V that's then sent over to your receiver (or integrated amp) to be amplified to speaker level. To be clear, speakers cannot be connected directly to Tube Box S2 (RCA in/out only) unless they're powered speakers with an amplifier built in, in which case the speaker would also have RCA inputs.
